Hyfryd! I see your bluebells are blooming. Our Virginia bluebells - a different family but similar in looks - bloomed in April. They grow in moist woodland soils, too.

Diolch, @brynle - still here! And not long back from a quick trip to Aberystwyth where, buffeted by the wind up on Constitution Hill it felt very much ‘outside’, but still a gorgeous day!

Crëyr glas, heron.
This heron is usually to be found in Castle Mill Stream, Oxford. Today we saw him catch two fish.

That should have been “yn harbwr”. I seem to have gone “treiglad-mad” there! :flushed:

Surprised last week to see this orchid/tegeirian by the side of a path in Cutteslowe Park on the nothern edge of Oxford. Tegeirian bera/pyramidal orchid maybe??

Yes, John, definitely a pyramidal orchid. Very nice.

Shwmae, bawb.

I saw a caterpillar toddling over a footpath today on the Gower. Any idea what kind of caterpillar it is (in any language??) Black hairs with a white stripe down the back.

It made it safely across to the further side, in case anyone is worried.
