I grew up in the state of Wisconsin, not far from a hilly area on the Wisconsin River, where the Welsh miners settled in the 19th century. It was the birthplace of the legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright, who built Taliesin, his school and studio, there. It’s a beautiful area, and as I explored it as a young adult, I became fascinated by the Welsh language and culture. Until the internet, however, I never found a way to study Welsh.

My husband and I live in a suburb of Washington, DC. He works in IT support, and I’m a writer.
