I remember the URL used to get changed when I successfully used it in the past. Just the last part, indicating interface language I think (i.e. English or Welsh) and the last word you searched for, if any.
When it first when wrong for me, it wasn’t total garbage, and had some links, e.g. one for English, one for Welsh, and when I clicked on those, it came up with the appropriate URL, although still not in the previous format (looked somewhat corrupt).
However, today, it’s just a page of garbage with no links or anything.
It’s a point of view.
I’m aware that XP is no longer supported by MS.
I’m sure I’m not the only one still using it though.
Not really feasible to upgrade this particular box at this point in its life, and I’m not in a position to buy a new box just yet.
I’m aware of the risks, but thanks anyway.
However, that is a question for another thread, or more probably, another forum.
…
Just tried it on my wife’s W7 desktop, and it’s fine there.
hm.
@tygerc: (Ubuntu) - Yes, I might do that one day, but only when I have a Windows box of some sort as well. I like Unix/Linux, but for many things, it’s just easier to go with the MS flow (unfortunately).
I have just tried uninstalling, then reinstalling the app on my iPhone. Apart from the app opening completely in Welsh (which I have no problem with at all), it’s still doing the same thing!
Perhaps somebody will upload a patch to cure the problem soon?
I found it worked on Firefox (on the same XP system).
From there I was reminded of the URL you get when you click on the Cymraeg button, namely http://geiriadur.bangor.ac.uk/?locale=cy
I pasted that into my Chrome browser, and it then worked, although the format was slightly odd: the text entry box was small and to the left, and the search results were a bit untidy.
