And I notice that just about every page on the BBC website that has to do with learning Welsh bears the ominous notice:

Article in Golwg about the disappearance of Geiriadur. It appears that it will be back but, no confirmation of when that will be.

I’m really disturbed by this. Geiriadur.net is by far my favorite dictionary. It has (had?) the great advantage of allowing you to look something ip by putting in just the last part – so, for instance, “iadur” would pull up “geiriadur” and maybe other words. This is fantastic for learners trying to decode words they half-heard on Radio Cymru, etc., and also useful for fluent speakers working on cynghanedd poetry.

Searching lexicon has been my favorite for a really long time. Especially because of the little explanations and the fact that it deals with plurals and mutations really well.
That Google translation is hilarious…it stumbles along for a bit, then towards the end just give up with a few words.
Question. Does the ‘Lexicon’ on line dictionary lean toward Northern Welsh as sometimes the translations don’t gel with what I’ve done in class.
Not that I am aware of, but I couldn’t say definitely either way. It seems that there are lots of ways to say things and one course may teach one way and another teach differently.

Can I ask what exact URL you are using, and also, what the URL gets changed to, by the system, if anything?
Also, from what kind of system are you accessing it, if you don’t mind my asking?

There was an update to the iOS version of Ap Geiriaduron yesterday which has sent my app up the wall! For a start, you cannot switch from English to Welsh, and when I type in a word for the app to find the app crashes and closes down!
I have sent in a review on the recent update already so hopefully a fix will be done soon.
I used the url you have provided (http://geiriadur.bangor.ac.uk/) and it didn’t change to anything else. Win7 and both latest FF and Chrome.
And you shouldn’t use XP anymore.

I am! iOS 8.1.3 on both my iPhone and iPad. I have just tried the app on my iPad (as it was the iPhone app I discovered the problem with), and the same thing has happened. Both my devices are set for automatic updates so I always get the latest versions without having to download them myself. It’s definitely something to do with the recent update!
I too am on iOS 8.1.3 and I have version 1.3 of Ap Geiriaduron running.with no apparent issues Gavin. How odd…
