Llon-dain - The Touring London Meet Up

See photo above for our meeting point in Stratford.

S’mae Pawb,

Just a reminder of the next Llon-dain which will be this Sunday from outside Stratford station. We are starting at 1.30pm rather than 2.00pm so be aware. All the relevant information is above and, remember, learners of any and every standard are welcome. Hope to see you there. @CatrinLliarJones

Hwyl,

Peter

Is Stratford station Stratford DLR, Stratford Overground or Stratford Underground? Route planners offer me all three?

Any of these will be fine. For meeting point, please see above. Wela chi ddydd Sul!

Thank you, too, Peter, for the explanatory notes above. Any further questions, please ask. Looking forward to an enjoyable afternoon! Walter

We had a lovely Llon-dain walk on Sunday from the Olympic Park in London’s Stratford down to the Thames via Victoria Park and the Regents canal. Thanks to Walter for leading us on this one.

Hi All,

The next Llon-dain will be on the 26th January starting at 2.00pm. Not sure yet what route we will be taking but it is an opportunity for us all to practice our Welsh whatever standard we are.

Put the date in your diary and keep a check for further postings.

S’mae Pawb,

Our next Llon-dain will be on the 26th January at 2.00pm starting behind the Parliament Hill Fields Lido on Hampstead Heath (there is a coffee shop here but not sure it is open in the winter). As always, learners of any standard are welcome and we will have a walk of about four miles around the Heath finishing with a drink in a local pub. Any questions then message me here. @Deborah-SSi @CatrinLliarJones

Look forward to seeing everyone again as well as any newcomers.

Hwyl,

Peter

If only it had been last weekend I would have been able to join you. Will keep my eye out for future events. IMwynhewch!

Ooh, could we do one of these somewhere near Paddington, or on the Lizzy Line, so that it’s easy for me to get in from Reading? Might be able to persuade some of my local Welsh-speaking friends to come as well. And maybe the Oxford crew could make it too?

Hi Suw, yes, we have done the Regents canal from Paddington and also a few starting somewhere on the Lizzy line too such as from Canary Wharf. Keep an eye out on the posts as we are sure to be in your preferred areas soon. Hwyl, Peter

Hi All,

Really, really sorry about this but we are going to postpone the walk for tomorrow due to the weather. I know it’s beautifully sunny today and the weather forecast is not always right, but it is currently showing as 40mph winds and heavy rain - and we planned it for Hampstead Heath!

The plan is to move this to the 16th February with all other details the same. @Deborah-SSi @CatrinLliarJones

S’mae Pawb,

Just to remind you all that the next Llon-dain is going ahead this Sunday coming (16th February) after having to delay it from a couple of weeks ago because of the weather. All the details are the same as above with us meeting at 2.00pm for our walk around Hampstead Heath in the bright sunshine.

Look forward to seeing you all there. @Deborah-SSi @CatrinLliarJones

Peter

Are you planning on sticking to the main paths or getting a bit of mud?
