Well I thought I had read that they had shown it in Denmark.
A question to everyone who has watched the new episodes - do I need to watch the first series in order to understand them or can I just start watching the new stuff straight away? Unfortunately the first season is only available in English here.
Oh dear, it’s so hard to know when one has actually seen it!! My gut feeling is that you can start from the beginning of this series. You will pick up on nuances between characters. You may miss some points, but it will not ruin the plot!! You could watch the first series in English. It is exactly the same!!!

By the way, I don’t know the plot really, but I’ve always wondered whether the series was somehow connected to the old Welsh legend of the “gwyll” - a spirit in the form of an old woman who leads travellers to the edge of a mountain…
I think only in the sense that it is ‘on the edge’.. the English name ‘Hinterland’ has a similar connotation. Others may know more!
Oh, I think if the allusion had been meant, it would’ve certainly appeared in one the episodes, so apparently it’s just not there. I think it would be lovely to see a film based on some traditional Welsh legends (other than Mabinogi), though! There are some that would make modern screen-writers become green with envy:)
I can’t say it didn’t, Stella. I’m not sure I’d remember if it did! If, in the next episode, someone referred to any legend or known historical event, I’d notice, but I doubt I’d file it away for posterity in my mind!!
Oh, it was just an idle question on my part, anyway. By the way, I’ve started the second season today and can see that it’s every bit as dark and grim as people describe it! But it’s pretty much the only opportunity to hear spoken Welsh in Belarus, so I’ll endure:)

Oh, sorry, you’re right, of course, Radio Cymru works here, it’s just that it’s a bit too advanced for me now and while I can guess some of the meaning of the words from what’s happening in the video, I don’t have any visual aid with a radio programme, which is why I’m looking mainly for videos right now! I should have been more precise, of course.

Anyone know where the garage is that pops up in pennod 2 of the current series? We need some info to settle a ‘domestic’ 
Sort of!! Last night, on ‘Jonathan’, Mali was a guest and she said they built the garage!! It was somewhere ‘in the middle of nowhere’ . I cannot remember exactly what she said, but can you watch Jonathan on ‘catch-up’ or ‘clic’? She went into quite a lot of detail.
It sounded as if it was a whim of the designer to put the garage there because it was such an isolated spot!! The entire set, all the garage scenes were constructed by the crew!! I will never believe anything I see in a TV drama again!!! 
Edit: I realised I still had the program on my Sky+ box. She said they were "outside Talybont and half way up a mountain’ on a winding road 30 miles from anywhere. Ed Thomas ‘the boss’ liked the spot and Tom Pearce built it all. It was so convincing that a local farmer stopped for diesel!!! I hope this settles your family’s confusion!! I can see why anyone knowing the area would be baffled… If a petrol station seemed to exist someplace on Gower, or even here, where there wasn’t one…well…in future the answer’ll be “The TV people must have built it!!”

I’m not surpised that it sounds like it might be somewhere east of Tal y Bont. We were chewing over whether or not it really existed but were guessing it really did. It does have that ‘hanging on by its eyebrows’ vibe. Speaking of which, I’m just getting my eyebrows back down after the last episode. Mrs G was yelling ‘hurry up, for God’s sake’ at the teledu during the last garage scene and the dog sloped off behind the sofa. It’s fantastic, tense stuff. I’m hoping it will appear on the BBC4 Saturday night ‘Scandi’ slot, where people are used to handling subtitles. It deserves a big audience. Thanks again for a good bit of spotting☀️
Yes! Something I simply expected for the last series, and am actually staggered that they thought a BBC audience could only handle the minimal Welsh anglified version. Apparently we can handle Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Italian, French, Icelandic, and possibly others, but we would be scared out our wits by Welsh. It’s possibly down to licensing and/or (more likely) “political” type reasons, but that’s not really an excuse.

Sadly, that looks about right. I’ve been pointing (very) English friends at iPlayer for this but there’s been a bit of an odd reaction that doesn’t pop up with Swedish/Danish/Italian stuff.
