Wnes i ddim/ Do'n i ddim

Hi. I’m on Level One Challenge 9-11, and am not sure what the difference is between “wnes i ddim” and “do’n i ddim” I’m just not clear when to use which. They both mean the same thing, right? Any help would be most welcome. (And, I’ve not posted here before so I hope I’m doing this correctly!)

Hi @sil82655

Yes you posted correctly - croeso - welcome to the forum.

In addition to the explanation above there are some verbs - called stative verbs - which use the ‘was’ tense for their past tense (in general).

Okay, yes, thank you, that makes sense. The link is helpful.

Thank you. Wasn’t sure what I was doing but thought I’d give it a shot. Seems it was successful!

There is a post somewhere with a link to a video also, explaining wnes etc. Helpfully, I can’t remember what it was called or who did it but I’ll see if I can find it…

Can’t find the post but here’s the link to the video. Helped me understand something I didn’t even realise I didn’t understand
