Iâd say @PeterG sums it up perfectly. I get slightly strange looks from a Welsh-speaker in the office when I use the âproperâ mae, sut, blodau, etc. but most of the things that SSIW varies the sound of actually end up easier to pronounce the SSIW way - perhaps thatâs why the language has evolved that way in the first place - a bit like one of mutationâs primary raison dâetre is to make pronouncing/speaking the language that much easier.

@mikeellwood, I use both. I love âdishgledâ because it brings a smile to my face as I remember how easy it was to remember the moment I learned it because it reminded me of âdish-clothâ. But then I use paned too. They seem perfectly interchangeable to me, somehow.
