I think this article will resonate with pretty much everyone on here. Irram Irshad talks about her journey with the Welsh language, the not-always-straightforward path to fluency, and the struggles she faced along the way. From only a vague awareness of the language to writing in Welsh for a living and having her poetry read at the National Eisteddfod, it’s an inspirational story.
Not all of us will have experienced the prejudice that Irram did, but we can certainly identify with imposter syndrome, struggling with masculine/ feminine and mutations and worrying that we’re going to forget it all.
“Learn for fun, to speak with your children who are learning it in school, to further your career: whatever the reason, it’s worth it. Learning Welsh changed my life completely”
