Phew! I was wondering the same thing and hoping I hadn’t missed an email or a deadline. Happy news!
Hi! The link to Parti 10 said there was 1 space available, so I reserved it just now. The booking site wanted to know the keyword so I went back a page to try to find it, but now the booking seems to have disappeared - it’s just saying ‘fully booked’. Can you help please? thank you!
Help! The booking people said the reservation will be automatically released after a short interval so I’ve reserved a space again but it needs a password for the event!! Anyone know it please? Diolch!
Hi, Just wondering how we will be contacted to pay the balance for the party, I don’t want to miss it!
Yeah, I’ve been worrying about this too. Also little things like when everything starts on Friday, so I can work out which trains to catch. And what I need to bring. (There was a suggestion on another thread that we need formal clothes for Saturday evening?)
I know you’ve got your hands more than full atm, @aran, but with May almost upon us …
It depends what exactly that entails but I don’t do “formal” very well. I remember being the only guy in jeans at a do once, I stuck out like a sore thumb but, ew, I was comfortable.
I can buy a very loud shirt if that’s what’s needed.
I’d go for very, very, LOUD. Looking forward to spotting you in the crowd.
Thanks!
Paid a becso, Catriona / Don’t worry. I’ve decided to go informal and just wear a dinner suit and bow tie rather than formal evening dress (white tie and tails)
Seriously, as others have said, there is no obligation or even expectation to wear anything formal. (The important thing is NOT to outshine Aran )
Update: Here’s Catrin’s latest guidance (ignore my own waffling):
smart dress - formal dress optional - I’ll be wearing a long gown… any excuse
So, uhh… How not okay would it theoretically be to show up in a t-shirt and jeans?
Not not OK at all - as long as they came from top fashion houses.
(Shabby chic, with an emphasis on the chic)
Bore da everyone and a Pasg hapus to all of you!
Balance
The option to pay the balance of your ticket price will be available online next week. We will alert you in this thread and provide a link.
General info about the weekend
Just a reminder that the party weekend will be in Caernarfon and mainly in the Galeri, beginning on the evening of Friday the 31st of May 2019 and end sometime on Sunday the 2nd of June 2019
What’s happening -
-
The first evening on Friday the 31st of May will be an informal and fun gig with hog roast evening at the Galeri at 7pm. We will soon reveal which much loved Welsh artists are performing - we have chosen artists which will hopefully appeal to all ages. The hog roast will be supplied by a local, Welsh company with focus on local produce - there will be options for vegetarians. Ticket holders will be supplied with wristbands and the venue will be providing adequate security for our own privacy.
-
The first full day on Saturday the 1st of June will offer a variety of activities in and around Caernarfon - details to follow.
-
The second evening on Saturday the 1st of June will be the main formal SSiW 10th birthday party (smart dress - formal dress optional - I’ll be wearing a long gown… any excuse ). The party will take place in the main theatre at the Galeri. Guests will be able to register on arrival. During the first half hour meet and greet session in the bar area, there will be a Welsh themed welcome drink for all, and music from a local harpist. The party will be a cabaret style evening in a dramatic setting - large round tables - 10 to each table but no formal seating arrangements. There will be a gourmet hot and cold buffet, celebrating local produce which will have choices for vegetarians and vegans clearly labled. During the evening there will be some speeches, an awards ceremony, special guests and some surprises.
-
The second day, Sunday the 2nd of June will give guests the opportunity to come together and socialise once more before departing. Walks around Caernarfon are an option. I’m guessing ome will meet over breakfast or an ice cream in the maes in town.
We have a dedicated team of SSiWers whom have come together to help Aran and myself make this weekend special. So a huge thank you to @siaronjames @beca-brown and @Stine for their enthusiasm, patience, creativity and hard work.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further queries and as soon as we have more information we will post it here.
Thankyou, Catrin!
Diolch yn fawr iawn Catrin. Edrych ymlaen x
Just make sure you take your rucksack off for the really formal bits and you’ll be fine.
Probably best to remove your cagoule, as well. We will be inside a building, after all
While I’m here, I still have an empty car, travelling up from Portsmouth on the Friday, route unplanned, not worried about detours, long as we get there…
Happy to share the journey, room for 4, bring your own CD, travelling back on Sunday. Let me know.
