Hi, I am from Wales and can speak welsh (dim ond digon i cael sgwrs) and i was curious about any welsh groups in leicester or around that area. I stumbled upon this chat and was wondering if its still active?
Hi Branwen, weāre just looking at getting this restarted now after an extended summer break. Thereās a least 3 of us, not including yourself, that want to meet up and youād be very welcome to join in.
In the past weāve always met up on a weekday evening. Would this suit you?
It will have to depend on where you meet up.
In general we meet in the Clarendon Park area. Whereabouts are you based?
It shouldnt be an issue, Iām close to De Montfort Uni. Im a 2nd year there.
I cant promise to be able to make it to every meet up but it would be great to see new people and speak more Welsh again.

Hi @branwen-1 , we are looking to restart our regular meet ups on Thursday 14th of November at 19:30. Weāll be meeting in the Clarendon pub if you know it? We usually sit in the back bar.

After that we plan to meet every fortnight - same place, same time - so the next one would be Thursday 28th of November.
If youāre eager, 2 of us will be having an ad hoc meet up on Wednesday 30th October at 19:30, in the Clarendon. Youāre welcome to join us, as is anyone else who reads this. Just let us know in advance so that we can keep an eye out - or just listen for the table speaking Welsh.

Hi, Branwen - we met a couple of weeks ago and agreed to meet fortnightly, EXCEPT this week as nobody could make it! So weāre meeting up on Thursday 12 December, so would be great to meet you then. Although we are planning to meet fortnightly, I doubt weāll meet on 26 December, so the one after that would be 9 January 2025.
