Has anybody out there come across the old Welsh saying that goes something like this in English.
“There was a sail on a boat long before there was a saddle on a horse”
I’ve definitely heard it on Anglesey but failed to make a note of it at the time.
It’s a long shot, but you might try asking on the Rownd a Rownd (set in Menai Bridge) Facebook page?
If they like it, they might even incorporate it into one of their scripts!
(I can imagine an older character like Wyn or Arthur coming out with that one).
