English/North Welsh dictionary

Can anyone recommend a dictionary for North Welsh and English, rather than just Welsh?

There really isn’t that much difference between North and South Welsh, not enough to warrant separate dictionaries, anyway. The Geiriadur Academi (online version available - the actual book is a bit of a biggie!) does indicate, among other things, where there is more generally a North or South usage of words, but they are mostly all pretty interchangeable anyway.

In terms of printed dictionaries, the Pocket Modern Welsh Dictionary, published by OUP, and edited by our good friend Gareth King, is very learner-friendly, and will point out regional differences (although most dictionaries will do that).

Two more apps to consider (both free):

Ap Geiriaduron: https://www.bangor.ac.uk/canolfanbedwyr/ap_geiriaduron.php.en (I find this a useful ‘first call’ - it works out if the word you’re putting in has been mutated, and will go from Welsh to English or vice versa)

Geiriadur Prifysgol Cymru: http://www.welsh-dictionary.ac.uk (This is where I go to look up more complicated or older words - but it does have everything in it, so will throw up obsolete or just plain unusual words, which might not be what you want at first. It’s got Welsh word games on it as well though!)
