Forgive me if it upthread… Some years in lieu of organised meetups there’s been a general principle of “X o’clock outside Y tent (often Maes D) is a gather of any in the area SSIWers - we doing that this year? Did we have a time?
I haven’t seen a Maes layout yet, I wonder if it’s out.
IMPORTANT information for people looking to travel “home” to Caernarfon from the Maes with the shuttle bus at 11pm… the link to book the tickets is now online (I don’t know since when exactly, I just thought to check the site again for "further information), and it looks like they’re selling like hot cakes!
On Wednesday the 9th of August at 11 am at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol, SSi’s @aran will be joining @sara-peacock-1, S4C’s Welsh Language Strategy Lead, for a discussion titled “Iaith ar Daith - y siwrne’n parhau”/“Iaith ar Daith - the journey continues”.
Joining the panel to discuss how to move forward with learning and build confidence, will be Aleighcia Scott, the Welsh–Jamaican reggae artist, presenter and former Iaith ar Daith participant, as well as other former IaD celebrities, yet-to-be-confirmed.
So please come along to Stondin S4C on the Eisteddfod Maes at 11 on 09/08 to enjoy this free event!
Via the kindness of Mari and Matthew at Y Lion, Tudweiliog and the willingness of Cwmni Bysus Nefyn to work with us, we’ve been able to organize two late buses from the Eisteddfod to Tudweiliog.
The buses will run every night from Saturday 5th August to Saturday 12th August
Shuttle Bus No. 8 will leave the Maes at 10:15pm every night and come through Nefyn, Morfa Nefyn, Edern and Tudweiliog. Ticket price £2.00.
At 11:00pm a bus that needs to be booked in advance will leave the Maes and come all the way to Tudweiliog.
Ticket price £4.50 including booking fee. You can book here.
A huge thank you to the Lion and Nefyn Buses!
If you would like more information please feel free to contact us Bysus Nefyn
I bumped into Mali Ann Rees, Aleighcia’s touring partner, at Sesiwn Fawr. Normally when you encounter people off the telly, they turn out to be a foot shorter than you expect. Mali was a good foot taller!
Such a privilege for me to be asking the questions! Kiri’s going to be filming with Maggi Noggi, and is a bit nervous about the timetable (which is why we’re being slightly reticent about advertising her presence!) but I’m hoping they’ll be able to dash across the Maes to be with us.
I’ve never been to the Llŷn peninsula, any good places to have a little wild swim while I’m there? Closer to Boduan the better really. Any help much appreciated.
It’s mostly coastline so really just keep going in any given direction until your feet feel wet, and then start swimming
The fastest route to water from Boduan is pretty much straight north to Nefyn, but there is a plethora of small coves and beaches everywhere from there down to Aberdaron, so if you just stick a pin on any small stretch of sand on Google maps, you’ll uncover some treasures.
I’m just thinking of it as you and me having a chat. I would offer to put a pint in your hand to make it more realistic, but that’s possibly not a good idea at 11am…
