Dancing Dragons

I like this new site. It seems to have most of the stuff I liked in the original SSiW site. Easier to access old threads, less like a Twitter thing, etc.

So thank you very much to all concerned for the hard work which was involved.
I have no idea how much hard work was involved, but I can imagine it was a lot, at least! Much hard work. Thank you!

But someone in another thread mentioned dancing dragons, and I just wondered if there is any way which rhywun’s work on the icon’s can be transferred to this site?

It may well be impossible, but they were bloody marvellous! It would be a real pity to see her work disappear.

Just an enquiry, not a complaint as it were!
I have no idea how these things work, and perhaps it is not feasible (alas!)

Like this Owain? All I did was add an image that points to http://old.saysomethingin.com/welsh/images/smilies/ssiwdawnsiodragon.gif

Yes, like that.

Any chance of letting me know where her images are kept, as it were, so that people can easily find them and the references for the others?

Very good work, but I have to say you are too modest in saying that was all you did! I would never have guessed that that was the reference for them

Thanks in advance.

We’ll get them added so that they can be used like other emoticons (which I don’t think are all that well done here, since there’s no obvious way to see a list of available options) - if we can figure out a way to make the dragons a bit easier to find than the others, we’ll do that too - but Ifan is flat out on the lesson building algorithm right now, so it’s not-in-the-immediate-future stuff…

Oh, I can understand that completely!
Time’s much better spent on building lessons, of course!

Diolch, Stu!

Your edit to your link in the your first message certainly makes far more sense than the random numbers in the link which were in the message before, which threw me more than a bit.

The list of the connections in your second message show what images they are referring to, so thanks for that!

Though I do know how to post images (I take a bit of undeserved pride in being the first person to post an image on this site [being a Luddite, I have to take pride from such silly things! ;-)]), and though I have got used to using icons on this site, I think in this case I will probably wait til icons can be posted by a click, as it were! But that is just my Luddite blood, as I said!

But thank you as always for your hard work in giving this information to everyone!

Credit where credit is due here; it was Kev who edited the post for me. I hadn’t actually noticed that my text had been “Discoursified” into mangled nonsense, as I was in a rush to get off to a training course! As for being a Luddite Owain, they don’t use the interwebs, so I don’t believe a word of it!

Any progress with getting the dancing dragons properly Discourse-ified?

We love them, but it’s hard to put them ahead of the stuff we’re doing with the course creation tool for the time being, I’m afraid…

I’m afraid this elderly draig is too lazy to try to work long complex instructions!! I typethe colon and try various letters like danc :danc no I don’t want dancers… drag :dragon:  and when I get a lovely big dragon or two, dancing, or with a poster, I will shout with joy and include as appropriate!!!

I’ve only just discovered these and already I’m fond of them.

Seams happy one to me.

It’s no good!! I can’t work out how to put a fire breathing dragon here, despite managing to see it by clicking on the link!!
One more try
No, I’m clearly too thick to manage it!! Help!!

The only thing I’ve done is post the url on its own separate line, like this:

Simply put http://old.saysomethingin.com/welsh/images/smilies/ssiwangeldragon.gif on a line on its own
http://old.saysomethingin.com/welsh/images/smilies/ssiwangeldragon.gif
