Christmas presents for Welsh learners

A couple of books were mentioned on here lately thst I’ve put on my “If you absolutely have to get me a present…” list. I thought it would be interesting and fun to see if anyone else has got ideas?

So far:

Llyfr Natur Iolo

If you’re interested in understanding the whys and wherefores of Welsh grammar, then I would suggest a couple of books for your list:

“Working Welsh” and “Thinking Welsh” - both by Gareth King

I still get a surprising amount of joy each time I use my Welsh mug…

I enjoyed the book ‘Ffenestri’ by Lois Arnold. It’s a series of short stories and poems which appear to get harder (from a learner’s point of view) as you go through the book. I found it good, as a new learner several years ago.

Each year I buy for myself (that counts right?) a Welsh language calendar, usually from this shop. It’s a nice way of reinforcing learning of the days/months

I can also recommend Ffenestri. It was lovely to feel you were progressing in your Welsh as the stories got harder. The stories themselves are short and entertaining.

Another vote for Ffenestri. Lois Arnold’s writing style is engaging and you definitely feel like you’re getting better as you go through the stories. It’s a pretty good feeling when you get the jokes, too.
Llyfr Natur Iolo is on my wishlist - I already have Llyfr Adar Iolo Williams, which I highly recommend. You’ll be amazed how many Welsh names there are for some birds.
