Dee, fach, it says Thursday! Isn’t it Wednesday you are all meeting with your flowing facial hair?
Armin and I will be going to the Eisteddfod on Tuesday, 2nd Aug, as I am volunteering on Maes D in the afternoon (in the caffi). It would be lovely to see you again, Margaret.
Charlotte
Hotel and maes tickets booked for Wednesday 3rd, no getting out of it now. Vaughan (@vgh50) had also booked for that day.
After some negotiations with the man with the beard (@gruntius) …in Welsh, on the phone, hands free, while driving to the petrol station after work; hotel booked and maes ticket bought for Wednesday.
Looking forward to seeing some old and new faces. Really looking forward to it…
Hmmmm … I should go through the thread and do some counting … I believe there will be app 15 (or 20) of us on Wednesday. I just love this!!
I will surely be there (if I don’t get lost in the wild). Thursday I’m flying home and at the time I’ll already be on the bus to airport …
My beard will be there, along with the rest of Cor-Y-Dreigiau but that’s on the Monday.
I hope to be there one other day but not sure when, I’ll keep an eye open for any likely looking SSIW bods.
@tatjana is, I believe, going to be there then. You may get to meet our favourite tech expert from Slovenia!
I hope to be there on Wednesday - count me in!
I may have to drive, because none of the organised buses from this area are going on Wednesday. The train takes too long. So if anyone wants a lift from the Machynlleth area, let me know.
Yes, I tend to be there until 6 pm when my bus returns to Cardiff.
Counted in (as far as concerns me)
Name badge. (@aran I think I need your permission)
I thought of making myself a little name badge with my name and enw fforwm for the Eisteddfod. Does SSiW have a current logo? If not can I use the font and my current colour preference (red) In order to preserve and promote “the brand”.
I had something like this in mind:
Can you guys indulge me with my ocd need to have a plan in place for a minute? What I can see so far is:
- Meet in Maes D at 15:00 for a chat.
Well, that’s it so far. Anyone fancy going further than that? I’ll have my family with me and we’ll need some food, would people like to get something from the Maes or would anyone fancy trying to seek out a local eatery to book?
Since I’m newby in these matters here I’ll go with the flow.
Looks nice and simple @hewrop. As far as concerns me it’s great.
Apart from wearing my SSiW T-Shirt (no matter being warm or cold) I’ll (try to) wear one (or all) of these badges:
Besides … you could not miss me as I’ll probably be the only funny face around Maes D.
just read the thread and I shall be there and look forward to seeing you !
So, the gathering is shaping just nicely. Going through the thread I found out I’ll meet at least 15 people there - 14 on Wednesday and 1 (or 2) on Monday. And I’ll meet at least 4 known to me people already at the bootcamp.
Hapus iawn.
And the hat. And be with me and my somewhat provocative T Shirt.
I’m up for the meeting at 3 part. I know then that I need to be on the Menter bus back to Caerdydd (presumably with Tatjana!). I’m happy to follow the crowd for anything in between (I’m easily led…)
Thanks to the 6 people who indicated their presence on the Wednesday by clicking on my post no 32 (3rd July) in this thread. Tatjana has now counted up a total of 15 people which gives us a rugby union side. What shall we call ourselves and what position do you want to play? (in Welsh, please. )
I think that would be great. But I wonder if people would like to have a generic badge that we could print out to recognise each other easily? (I spent a minute or two circling around Leia and SJ at Tafwyl trying to decide if they were likely candidates for SSIWers!) I could maybe make one with a logo on tonight if people think it’s a good idea?
Also, there is a very slight chance that I might make it on Wednesday - without family!! (I’m not banking on it yet though, the thought is just a bit too decadent!) I’ll definitely be there on Friday though.
Bob hyn a hyn, every now and then, mae pawb yn haeddu, every one deserves a decadent thought.
