Yorkshire and the North East of England Cymanfa Ganu

The Yorkshire and the North East of England Cymanfa Ganu (Welsh hymn-singing festival) will be held on Saturday 14th May 2016, from 2.00-3.30 and 4.45-6.30. This year we are at Priory Place Methodist Church, Printing Office Street, Doncaster, DN1 1TR.

Yvonne Robert, who comes from Prestatyn originally, will be leading the singing and Nicholas Page will provide the organ accompaniment. Most of the hymns are sung in Welsh (hymn books provided), with a few in English.
Readings, prayers and introductions to hymns are in Welsh and English. A collection will be taken in each of the two sessions.

Parking is available in the Civic Quarter Car Park, College Rd., DN1 3JH nearby. It is open until midnight and
costs £2.50 for the whole day. From the A18, Carr House Rd., turn into Trafford Way, the A638, then turn right into College Rd. at the next roundabout. If coming by train walk from the Frenchgate Centre Interchange along
the High St., turn right into Priory Place and you will see the church at the far end. The walk takes about 10 min.

Bring a snack for the interval: tea, coffee and juice will be available as usual. Tea will be served again at the end of the second session.

Several SSiWers who regularly come to the Meet-Up in Leeds may well be there: there’s plenty of opportunity to hear and speak Welsh in the interval.

Cofion, Eileen
