helo - in lesson 18 why is it “dw i’n synnu yn fawr” and not synnu iawn please? Do we sometimes have to say " a lot" instead of translating it as “very” in Welsh?

There are quite a few different ways in Welsh to say ‘very’ other than just ‘iawn’, and ‘yn fawr’ is one of them - ‘iawn’ doesn’t really work for ‘very’ in the ‘synnu’ sentence. If it helps, think of the ‘very’ here as ‘much’ instead - “I was much surprised”.
