Why is Welsh spelling so hard?
It’s hard for beginners because they are ‘hearing’ the letters in their native language, and those sounds do not necessarily correspond to the sounds the Welsh letters make. Once you’re used to the Welsh sounds, you’ll notice that Welsh is actually very phonetic and that spelling is much easier compared to many other languages.

I’d say have a good look through this forum (you can use the search function to narrow things down) because there are loads of topics suggesting resources, books for beginners, tv shows and podcasts for learners, etc.
But my main tip - as far as spelling in particular is concerned - is to get a good grip of listening and speaking first (which the SSiW app and course excel at) and to introduce reading and then writing a little later on.
