The audio seems to gave two options of how to say ‘wnes’ and I just wanted to check what difference they have (if any!).
One sounds like ‘ness’ and the other is more like ‘nesh’
They probably explained it earlier in the course but Im on blue belt and I’ve been meaning to ask for ages lol. I’ve been saying ‘ness’.
Do we not pronounce the W to make it ‘ooness’ or ‘oonesh’?
Thanks all

I think if you were being really careful, you’d pronounce the www at the beginning - but most people don’t.
The other question of ness or nesh comes down to local accent, I think. They are both fine

Diolch!
I thought it was probably depending on accent.
The ‘nesh’ pronunciation is more prevalent in the north from what I’ve heard

I’ve noticed that the woman’s voice tends to miss the ‘w’ out, but the man’s voice uses it.
I think it’s to show that both are valid. I’m using the south Wales version, so I don’t know if it’s any different for northern users.

Welsh and its multitude of dialects! But it also means you cant be too wrong lol

Exactly! Just say what you feel is correct with enough confidence and people will just assume you’re using a dialect from somewhere else
