flicked through the thread and might have missed this, but has anyone mentioned cynhaeaf - harvest time, Autumn (before gaeaf). Apologies if it’s been done already. Also what’s story behind cyntaf and olaf - I maybe stretching things a bit there?.
Hydref - Hydd and Bref, giving hyddfref accoring to GPC, although uncertain about origin. The time of year the stags do their rutting and coutship battles is apparentlyAutumn and that is roughly what Hydd and Bref is describing.
