Hi, I started back in 2020 and haven’t study intensively for a couple of years, but I loved the old challenges. I’m now going back to the Old Course levels 2 and 3 and I plan to revisit levels 2 and 3 of the “new course”.
However, the new App and belt levels just confuse me. How do I gauge an appropriate level to start if I’m not a beginner? I can’t see any vocab lists, nor can I see how to download audio if I want to. For example, I listen to the old challenges in the car or while exercising.
I have the old App and all levels of the older courses are there so I’m happy with that (and later the advanced material), but will that content always be there?
Sorry to sound a bit negative, either I’m missing something or the new approach may take some adjustment.
Cheers,
Max
Hi @max-parry, you’re welcome to keep using the older audio files if they suit you. They’re all downloadable from the website (click on ‘Learn’ to get to the main page, then ‘Learn’ again to see the options there), so you can save them to your device and use them easily like that. The older app may stop working as updates go through for Android/Apple as it’s no longer supported.
The audio files are also available through the new app if you go to Account, then My Resources and scroll down there.
If you’d like to use the new app, you can go to Account, then My Languages, and click on the little pencil to select a different Belt colour. If you go for something further on initially, e.g. Purple, and see how that suits, then you can adjust to a different one that’s harder or easier. When you get to the end of Black Belt, the app goes into Infinite Play which gives you random practice from throughout the course, so that might be useful for you.
Thanks Deborah, that’s all very useful, appreciate the prompt reply.
Cheers,
Max
