Just wondering whether there were any Welsh speakers in Cumbria who would be interested in a paned a sgwrs from time to time. I’m based in the Haweswater valley, NE Lakes.

Co-oincidentaly, I am looking to connect with Welsh speakers in Cumbria and North Lancashire to continue to use my Welsh which is my native language. I have not lived in Wales other than a couple of years fron 2022 . Pob Hwyl

Where do you live, Glyn? I am in the Haweswater valley about 10 miles south of Penrith and 6 miles from Shap

Hi , Sorry for the delay in replying. I live in Grange over Sands about 14 miles south west of Kendal. Shap sounds like a good place to meet. I think there is a cafe there. How does that sound? Do you know any other Welsh speakers in the County?

Shap does have a very nice cafe, yes. I’ve put a request on the local Facebook page and one or two Welsh speakers have replied, but no-one has responded to a meet-up request. I’d be happy to meet up for an initial chat.

We met up once and had a good chat but need to do it again sometime. I’ve found another couple of native Welsh speakers in the area if you’re interested in meeting up some time.
