This is a message from a teacher at Ysgol Gynradd Newton in Porthcawl. The teacher has been learning Welsh with us for some time, and his school is competing in a UK-wide songwriting competition. It’s the only Welsh school to make the final and they’re appealing for support to try and win. Here’s the message from Henley Jenkins:
We wanted to let you know that Newton Primary School has been very fortunate to reach the final of the 2026 School Song UK songwriting competition.
I feel that we have a very strong chance of doing well this year. We are the only school from Wales in the final!
This time the organisers are allowing the public to vote, alongside the judging panel. The voting closes on 30th October.
We were wondering if you could help support our chances of winning by sharing the link below with your colleagues and or even share our Facebook post.
