Welsh in the wild,,,

I met Dr Rhys Jones last night, he of the Rhys to the Rescue, Wildlife Patrol BBC fame as well as Cardiff University.

He’s learning to speak Welsh and he told me so in Welsh and I understood and I managed to tell him I was learning Welsh too in Welsh before my mind went blank and we went back to English. Its a start though,

He is also very good at sounding like someone else as in he was saying something about Iolo Williams and Derek Brockway and he sounded exactly like them. Not sure how long he has been learning but what little he said sounded very good accent pronunciation etc.

Da iawn i ti Theresa! I great start to speaking Welsh in a real context. Don’t worry about the mind going blank thing - the more you speak with people, the easier it’ll get!

Hwyl,

Stu

I’ll second that from Stu. Talking Welsh to someone - anyone - is the single most important thing you will do with your Welsh, whatever level you’ve reached! Da iawn!
