You poor thing! I feel your pain. (I live in Sussex. I have no chance at all.)
I’ll try and keep a special eye out for any gigs closer to you Verity - some soloists/bands do tour England on occasion.

I am considering it. Even with the train ticket the cost is within my definition of a reasonable price to pay for a concert, though I couldn’t afford it too often.
It’s really the travel itself that’s my problem. My health isn’t great and it would mean a total of 3 hours on trains. Could be worth it though.
True, and Sussex is actually quite well favoured by the arts - Chichester and Brighton aren’t too tricky for me to get to, and Worthing is easy.
I’ve never noticed any Welsh bands performing at the Assembly Rooms, but I suppose anything is possible! Just a little improbable.
