Weather question

A couple of questions about the weather, how would I say “thundering and lightning” I’ve heard a couple of variations, the one I’ve seen on translate is “iau a mellt”?
Also I know that “bwrw glaw” is “raining” so is glaw describing rain?

I’d say “mellt a tharanau” (lit. lightning and thunder). Some areas may use more localised phrases but “Iau a mellt” (iau can mean liver, yoke, younger or Jupiter!) probably isn’t one of them!

yes, glaw = rain (noun)
