Just in case there are any other llyfrholigau on here… Routledge, which publishes @garethrking of this parish’s grammar books, has a Black Friday promotion of 25% on all its books. The offer lasts for another couple of days (from today, 03/12/2024).
I’m just bought the paperback Modern Welsh, for the bargain price of £58 – well, it’s a bargain compared to the £77 it normally costs… This is cheaper than Amazon (£66) at the moment.
The Ebook is available for the same price, but be warned, it seems to use a propriety app with some restrictive limitations (only 2 devices allowed) – the Amazon ebook version, though more expensive, is just a typical Kindle book, AFAICT.
Others in the series (the Working/Thinking Welsh duo, the two workbooks etc) are available, and unbelivably, by other authors too.
I also prefer to buy directly from the publisher or bookshops rather than Amazon - so that’s a great opportunity!
Luckily for my wallet, I’ve already bought Working Welsh and Thinking Welsh. And actually also Colloquial Welsh and the Intermediate Welsh Reader from the same author, which I’d also recommend!
I already had the two workbooks (Basic and Intermediate) the Intermediate Reader and the dictionary. I was wondering about Colloquial Welsh, but as I have the two workbooks, I’m not sure it’s necessary.
As a matter of interest, if you don’t have the two workbooks, they’re on offer in a bundle (£46 for the two), which is a saving of about £8 on buying them separately, even with the discount.
I’ve also got Working and Thinking in Welsh – I understand the next in the series (Skiving in Welsh) is out in the Summer…
I have no spare cash at the moment, but I did just mention to my family that these books are on my wish-list and - should anyone happen to be thinking of getting them anyway - doing so now would save a bit. We’ll see!
