Very new learner here

Hello, Katy from Walton-on-Thames here, with family in Llangynidr.
Can anyone shed some light, I’m getting very confused between dw I, dwi’n, ma, and fi.
Diol has my fawr,

Don’t worry, the more you hear them and use them, the more they’ll click into place.

There is not a single straightforward answer because there are quite a few exceptions in translation, but very basically:

dw i = I am
dwi’n = I am “insert verb”-ing e.g. dwi’n ateb = I am answering
ma (short for mae) = he is / she is / it is / a “insert noun” is… e.g. ma ci = a dog is…
fi = me

hope that helps :slight_smile:

Brilliant! Thankyou so much, seeing it written down really has helped. It was the stumbling block that made me hit the pause button.

It’s the little things that confuse sometimes!
