I have been using duolingo to practice cyn and ar ol. I don’t understand why I have to have ‘i’ in some cases and not others.
Cyn I chi or cyn I Dewi Lingo but cyn cinio or cyn fynd.
Is it when only talking about a person that you need ‘i’

There are several cases where this happens (not just with cyn), and yes, it’s where you get
cyn (or other case) + pronoun/noun + VN, you need the ‘i’ before the pronoun or noun.
