“I had a few drinks - tomé unos tragos.”
I don’t know if it was how I pronounced this, or if it means something different locally, but the teacher at my Spanish class nearly fell off her stool when I said “El fin de semana salï y tomé unas tragas.”
I think in future I will stick to “El fin de semana salí y tomé unas copas.”
Tomorrow I will go in with both versions written down and find out what was so funny.

You might want to be particularly careful with that o/a shift there…
