I once was asked to translate a paper from Russian to English. It was Cell Biology, not my subject! I went to the friend who had asked me and said, “This keeps mentioning cells with eyelashes and…” “On!” Sh exclaimed, “That’ll be cilia!” I did know what cilia are but my mind didn’t connect them with eyelashes! I learned a lot about lateral thinking that day!
