Tourist course

hello

do you recommend completing level 2 before going on to the tourist course. i have just finished level 1 and as i am going to Madrid in 3 weeks wondered if this would be a good time to do the tourist course. sorry if this has been covered before. John

It’s a good question…

The tourist course has to be accessible to people who haven’t done Level 1 or 2 - so you can jump into it at any time. The first few lessons will probably feel a bit under-powered to someone already in Level 2, but by the time the vocab has built up a bit, it should you under a decent bit of pressure…

thanks for the reply. i get the impression the tourist course is therefore complimentry to the other 2 levels and covers specific tourist topics.

i have really found level 1 very helpful in my Spanish learning. i took my time and repeated each challenge as this suits my learning style, but try not to use the pause button as i am sure having to answer quickly is a key part of this approach. i like the idea that new neural pathways are building, as you stated. i am processing the language much quicker now in both speaking and listening, and this includes vocabulary i get from other sources.

so many thanks and good luck with your work.

Thanks for your kind words - really appreciate them…

Yes, the tourist course is very much standalone - much more vocab heavy, inevitably, and really designed to make sure that you are good to go in tourist situations (rather than to give you the wider conversational structures in the full courses)…
