The Story of Wales

These days on the bus while traveling home I’ve watched the BBC series “Story of Wales” and yesterday I’ve finished the last to disposal on YouTube episode - episode 5. But it leaves me with the thinking that here’s more to tell so a quick question: How many seasons and how many episodes in each season (if there really are more season than just one) consists the Story of Wales series of?

I’ve put this question already in Twitter but obviously no one there takes me too sirious so I’ve remembered I could ask here. I’m asking because I’d really like to see them all.

Thank you for potential answers.

That was a single series of 6 hour-long programmes (first broadcast in 2012)

This looks like episode 6 @tatjana

…by coincidence I stumbled over the book in a store recently and I’m reading it at the moment (haven’t seen the series ).

I saw on the web that there was a History of Welsh also presented by Huw Edwards. Now that sounded very interesting. It doesn’t seem to be available at all by regular means but I’m just off to check YouTube! (Did anyone see it?)

Well, yes but this is just a trailer to it and I’ve missheared that this is the last one however it’s not to be found on YouTube for who knows what reason though.

Someone made a playlist which I’ve saved and in it the first 5 videos are 5 episodes of Story of Wales. You can watch them here:

The last, 6th episode is missing though.

Also at the Open University you still can get a little free booklet in digital shape which once acompanied the series in printed edition aswell.

But this is the book you’re reading and I’ve heard for it already but it’s really unavailable to buy elswhere unless someone has it at home and watnts to sell it or give it away. So, you’re probably one of the few lucky ones who possess it.

But, do you know what? Asking questions here or elswhere always make me do some more research afterwards and I’ve just discovered that the book is available as a kindle edition on Amazon and it will probably be my next purchase despite the video series itself surely is much more exciting to see. If someone is interested the link is here:

Obviously physical formats of (probably used) books exist too. Now if I just could find that last video (6th one) somewhere I’d be super happy, really.

Thank you all for your answers and kind of inspiration to dig further into finding the missing part(s).

I’d be very happy to forward it on to anyone who wants to read it (after me!) …

On the Story of Welsh…the bbc website tantalisingly will give you a list of episodes and thumbnails of each one. It sounds great!

On Amazon you can find DVD but the price for new goes to hights, however, the used one are sold by acceptable price.

The interesting thing is that on Amazon.co.uk it’s curently unavailable.

There are two very similar series names - one of Wales (as per the book) - and one of Welsh - which sounds fascinating. So far I have drawn a blank on content for the series on Welsh.

I’m blank on the content of the Story of Welsh either. Will take a look at one point.
