Are there ways that you shorten your phrases when typing in Welsh? Such as ‘lol’ yn Saesneg, or something similar? How creative are you? Thanks!

Very interesting question Gabriel but if you write in English as well, that gives everyone a chance to understand, even if they’ve only just started learning.
The only one that immediately comes to mind as having reasonable currency is ogydd, which is shorter than os gwelwch yn dda, but rather longer than plîs (or, at any rate, the same length if we’re counting edd properly).
To be honest, I don’t do or receive an awful lot of texts, so I’m not really ‘up’ on stuff like this, but there are a few abbreviations that are fairly common. Richard has already mentioned ogydd, and others that spring to mind are omb (O mam bach) = “omg”, ayyb (ac yn y blaen) = “etc”, and I think I’ve seen reference to 8nos (wythnos) too, but as I said, I’m not the best person to ask!

I’d just write wythnos, I’m so out of the loop on texting! 
I’m not big on text speak (in either language!) but I do use the abbreviations here (apart from 8nos perhaps) in emails, as well as cgaph (cyn gynted â phosib - as soon as possible)
Somehow YGYBHYH (yn gobeithio y bydd hynna’n helpu) isn’t quite as snappy as HTH. I guess we could pare it down to GBHH if we’re prepared to slum it a bit.
Having said that - given all the English jokes about cats and keyboards, and the fact that the BH in the middle looks vaguely Irish - I’m tempted just to write “Pangur Bán” on the end of messages, and leave people to deal with it.
