The Cardiff Welsh language and culture festival, Tafwyl, is on THIS weekend, and it’s going to be broadcast live on S4C, so you can enjoy it wherever you live!
As one who lives in Cardiff, I will most definitely be there in person (on the Sunday, at least) - it’s one of the highlights of the year for me!
And it’s free! (But if you’re thinking of coming along, be aware that getting in can take some time, what with the bag checks at security etc…)
But I’m so chuffed that it’s being broadcast as well - then even more people can enjoy it
I went to Tafwyl every year when I lived in Cardiff and volunteered some years too. It’s a fantastic experience to get along to - well worth a visit!
I’ve been a couple of times before, when it was in the castle. Whereabouts in Bute Park will it be? I can only be in Cardiff for a short time tomorrow and the weather forecast isn’t great (in fact it’s pretty awful) and it might make a difference knowing where, fairly precisely, it’s going to be. Bute Park is a big place! @sara-peacock-1 @Deborah-SSi ?
I’ve found this information online:
Tafwyl 2023 will take place in Bute Park, known as the green heart of the city, located behind Cardiff Castle , and a short walk from the city’s main streets and city centre.
Deborah’s beaten me to it! It’s in the bit of the park that’s called “Cooper’s Field”, so if you come in through the gate just over the bridge from the Castle (the one by Pettigrews Tea Rooms) it will be straight ahead of you. Or if you come in from the footpath that runs down the right-hand side of the College of Music and Drama (looking at it from the main road), it will be on your left.
They’re putting up a massive marquee from what I can see - I don’t think you’ll be able to miss it!
Dw i’n gweld Sara, diolch yn fawr.
If you attended Tafwyl, the organisers would like you to fill in a survey to help with their future plans - and you get a chance to win £50:
