Dysgu Cymraeg are holding another of their FREE online Welsh Sundays - 6 July, 9:30 to 3:30 over Zoom. Be quick to register if you’d like to take part!
I still haven’t worked out which level I should pick. And if spaces are limited I don’t want to take one that someone else could use and then be in the wrong place. That would just be a waste.
Have a watch of these videos and hopefully they’ll help you work out what level to go for.
The sessions are pretty regular so I wouldn’t worry about taking a place. If it helps you, I’d finished the old level 3 of SSIW and then went on to do Canolradd (I actually did the condensed course). I found that a good transition, not too difficult but definitely learned plenty. This was with Coleg Gwent (I’m now doing Uwch 1 with them) and I’ve found the tutors and the courses to be fantastic. Having enjoyed SSIW so much I wasn’t sure what would be best to do next, but really happy with my choice.
Hope you find the right course for you, good luck!
You can contact them directly to ask about levels
I got this confirmation email which has the contact details - and also other details which maybe of interest to anyone thinking of attending

Diolch yn fawr iawn am gofrestru ar Sul Seiber, Gorffennaf 6, 9.30-3.30 (gallai newid yn ôl eich tiwtor) - ar-lein ar ZOOM.
Many thanks for registering on the Cyber Sunday, 6 July, 9.30-3.30 (could change according to your tutor) - online on ZOOM.
Sul Seiber ola’r flwyddyn!/Last Cyber Sunday of the year!
The course is filling up very fast - almost 100! BUT there are still places available on all levels – SO if you know classmates, neighbours, friends etc who would benefit from a whole day of learning and revising Welsh – ar-lein - ar ZOOM - FOR FREE, whatever their level – please spread the word and persuade them to come along!
I’ve finished the challenges and I’ve done up to lesson 15 of the old course 1. I watch Pobol y Cwm 3 times over: no subtitles, Welsh subtitles, English subtitles. I get the plot and at least the gist of most conversations through the first, usually pause during the second to look up words I don’t know, although quite often now I can get them from context or recognising the roots, such as cyfweliadau last night - I’d worked that out before I finished typing it into Gweiadur, and the answer was just confirmation. There are usually around half a dozen words I need to check, and if there are more I might not look up every one but just let context and the English subtitles get me through, as it gets annoying pausing and I probably won’t remember them all later anyway.
I’m starting to feel the English watchthrough is superfluous sometimes. It depends what topics come up in the episode.
Writing that out, I know I’m doing well. So why do I feel like I’m getting stupider?
@verity-davey if I were you, I would go for Canolradd 1 or 2 this time and see how it suits you. You’ll probably find that your spoken Welsh is in advance of the others, but there will be grammatical explanations and vocabulary that are new to you, so there will be plenty to learn.
I’ve been looking around for things I can try to find my level, and just signed up for a Richard Morse “Sgwrsio Canolradd”. (I’ve known these sessions exist for ages, but other than keeping up with the one soap opera and doing the odd Old Course lesson, I’ve been struggling to learn or attend anything for the last… 8 months or so.)
Good luck, I hope you enjoy it!
I just wanted to add, if you do think about doing a Dysgu Cymraeg weekend session, those sessions are in part aimed at giving people a taste of their courses and to help them find what level is suitable. If you go along, you’re not taking up someone’s place, they want you there. You’re their target audience, its in part an advert for their full courses - they’d love you to attend and then hopefully pay for a full course.
Regardless it sounds like you’re doing great!
