Standard Construction, or Emphasis? (Mae X Gyda Fi)

Bore Da, bawb.

Gobeithio mae popeth yn iawn!

In an effort to train my ear (and reading), I’ve resorted to watching a bit of Sam Tân ar S4C (nostalgia also).

Although I understood it, I was unaware that the structure was used. Although I am aware that there are varieties across Wales!!

The phrase that Sam Tân said:

'Sda fi ddim signal.
I understood it as: “I don’t have a signal.” (Phone signal).

Now, I’m guessing that the following are varieties and I have tried to place them in the full and shorter (contracted) forms. In no particular order (I’m from the South and have learned Mae X gyda fi; structure in school, but I’m comfortable using both South and North constructions).

  1. Does gen i ddim signal.
    'Sgen i ddim signal.
    (Predominantly North structure?)

  2. Does dim signal gyda fi.
    'Sdim signal 'da fi.
    (Predominantly South structure?)

  3. Does gyda fi ddim signal.
    'Sda fi ddim signal.
(I’m guessing this a crossover between southern wording using a northern structure?)

Where approximately would you most likely hear version 3 across Wales and is it a common structure? (And don’t say Pontypandy…:thinking::joy::rofl:)

Which version do YOU personally use when speaking Welsh and what area (broadly) do you live or come from within Wales?

I ask as I find it fascinating about the subtleties and variations in the language across Wales and love to learn about these.

I have also pasted the above on another social media platfform in an effort to reach out to more people for their views, comments and valuable inputs!

Cofion Gorau A Diolch Am Eich Help!
:hugs:

Yes, your guesses about where they’re predominantly used are correct.

I use version 1 ('Sgen i ddim signal) and I’ve lived in the North for 20 years, but I started with version 2 when I was first learning in South Wales (where I’m from originally).
