Let’s face it, the Welsh press were still calling Christine James a ‘learner’ when she was the Prifardd!
If we still get called learners in such company I can live with it

Put it on the bright side. Calling (some of) us (still) learners we can easily be excused for as many mistakes as we make …
Um… did anybody lose a copy of ‘Some Sex and a Hill’ at the party? Someone put a stray one on our table, and it was still there when we were leaving, so it now lives with us - but we’d be more than happy to pop it in the post!
Or was it just someone wanting to GIVE IT AWAY in exchange for another book?
[glowers darkly in YOUR direction]
surely it would have been someone after the author’s signature?
[continues to glower suspiciously and unforgivingly]
Am I the only one brave enough to say it? Was someone after a refund?
I thought considering a swap was as low as we would go. But no, you had to go further. This is a sad day indeed.
Soooo … do I get my money back or not?
Oh, right, ‘someone’ was like ‘asking for a friend’?
You know I’m joking … I never bought it in the first place.
Oh, sorry, we’re sold out for the 10th anniversary party.
Tracey got the last place.
It wasn’t me, honest. I never buy books about hills.
Tagging on to say apologies for such a late comment, but DIOLCH O’R CALON to Catrin for organising a very enjoyable evening at the Galeri last Sat. We had a great time, and if we hadn’t had to get back to an elderly canine, we’d have stayed longer.
And always good to meet Nia Parry’s no 1 fan As I told him, if it wasn’t for a comment posted on the Guardian’s website a few years ago, I’d never have heard of SSIW. So many thanks to you too, Huw.
And Meinir was just fab. Absolutely brilliant.
PS and glad others ‘enjoyed’ the Cofi accent. Hope you heard a good few instances of ‘boi’ during your week here…
