Tell everybody to keep them safe until next time, then just cover the 7 with an 8! Remember - Reuse, Reduce, Recycle!!

Good point Ali, I shouldn’t have made them so specific. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Being a Cardi, I have conserved the badge I made for the Eisteddfod, Y Fenni. It is time-independent. It’ll outlive me.

I’ve arrived and checked in to my hotel. Apart from talking funny, all the natives seem very friendly.

Off to the Bachgen Du shortly to meet old and new friends. Later (to quote Pink, one of my favourite singers) “Let’s get this party started” :wine_glass::beer:

I’m expecting to arrive in Caernarfon at 6pm if all the transport continues to play nicely. Will anyone be about at that time, being as it is between the afternoon shenanigans and the party itself?

Just to keep you all up-to-date with running order etc…

Early birds have all met each other and started enjoying themselves, courtesy of a quick tour of Caernarfon with Catrin…

We’re all lining up for a 6.30ish kind of start in the Galeri, with 7.00 being the official beginning of things…

Sorry to say that we’re going to be short a couple of our special guests - Manon has had car problems that have knocked today on the head for her, and Nia had accidentally double-booked with an important family get-together - they both send their apologies, and hope you have a wonderful night…

But we’re still going to be thoroughly spoiled by having the one and only Meinir Gwilym (and her trusty guitar) joining us for the evening… :star: :star2:

Right, I think that’s everything.

Oh, yes, look for some, um, unusual photos on Twitter later on, with the hashtag #PartiSSiW17

It was the first time I’d heard her live or otherwise but (as I told her) certainly not the last. I’m glad Aran was able to share her wonderful performance.

The whole afternoon and evening was memorable.

I was so tempted seing @aran idle on Skype to give him a call and say HELO to all! (but I’m a good girl and didn’t do that of course).

Yes I am glad too. I’ve enjoyed the performance very much.

I just want to take the opportunity to thank you all so very, very much for last night. I had such a good time! It was wonderful to see so many of you there and the Galeri packed to the brim with friendly, enthusiastic and interesting Welsh learners.

Diolch for making the effort to come - some of you from so very far away! Diolch for throwing yourselves in to the silliness of the evening. Diolch for your happy faces, your kindness and friendliness. Diolch for the supportive web of friendship you continue to build amongst each other every time you meet up for a chat/coffee/party/bootcamp - It makes me proud to watch it grow and to have the privilege of being part of it.

Diolch to Geraint for the fabulous name badges and raffle tickets - a LOT of work went in to them!

Diolch to Iestyn for throwing himself in to leading the singing at such short notice and for his kind words to you all - he is a great showman!

Diolch to Aran for his immense support and patience with me whilst I threw it all together and for being my fabulous sidekick, not only on the evening, but also every day of every week of every month we navigate this interesting journey together.

Diolch to Cat, for not only making the huge effort of coming, but for doing so with so much enthusiasm, with a smile, with the challenging handful of four excited kids, and for doing it all whilst looking so very glamorous - she is a trooper!!!

Diolch to the Galeri for their hard work, professionalism and always willing co-operation - they have been wonderful every step of the way!

We had casually mentioned that we may meet up with some of you this morning. At the moment, though, it doesn’t look as if that will be happening. We’re all far too lazy here and I’ve no bandwidth left to be able to put any plans in place! But if anyone has any bright ideas or fabulous arrangements in place, then please let us know on here and we’ll see what we can do.

I’ve already some exciting ideas in place for the 2019 SSiW 10th birthday party - the big one! But would love any feedback you had on last night - your input helps me greatly! Diolch!

Hope you all had a whale of a times (in fact I’m sure you did!)

I had a bit of a logistical drama come up so had to scrub but hope to catch up Eisteddfod time if not before!

Thank you everyone for a lovely time yesterday afternoon and last night, and glad to see the party continuing for some over breakfast in Morrisons when I went to do my shopping this morning!

Next time make it longer!! - I didn’t get the chance to speak to everyone!!! I thought the atmosphere was a great balance, but it would have been lovely to have something approaching a Noson Lawen-ish mini-Eisteddfod as I was hoping that someone was going to take advantage of the open mic. No, I didn’t either, :confounded: so I can’t say too much… :no_mouth:
That would have been a great opportunity for awards  We could not possibly have done better than listen to Meinir’s music though, diolch o galon i Meinir a Bryn am ddod!!! Mae ei albymau yn hyfryd, ond mae rhywbeth yn bendant o dda gwrando ar cerddoriaeth fyw - dyna talent a sgil dros ben.
Catrin, we’ve only just had breakfast, er brunch, ok lunch then!! so you can’t think think you’re lazy.
Geraint:- the SSiW band really does need to happen at some stage, or on some stage if you prefer  and your model of rehearsing is as good a place to start as any…it may be a new thread is needed? The badges were a brilliant addition btw.
SSiWers are just a great bunch of people - Fran was the first I spoke to and it was wonderful to see after her “I’m nervous” post that she threw herself into it all and enjoyed the evening! One of the Galeri staff said at the end when some of us were helping clear the tables that he hoped we’d return soon…

Last night was lovely. Great to put faces to names and meet so many friendly people, all of whom spoke amazing Welsh.
