Firstly I must apologise for a shameless plug, I hope you will all forgive me, as it is in a good cause.
On 18 April 2015, I will be swimming 2½ km, which is a whopping 75 lengths of my local pool, in aid of the magnificent work done by Marie Curie.
For those of you who know me elsewhere, including in real life, you’ll know that I’m a big swimming fan, but this will be a huge physical challenge for me. I cannot claim that this swimathon has a huge link to SSiW, although I do count my lengths in Welsh every time I visit the pool!
Diolch pawb! Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far. It’s such an amazing cause, do please keep it coming, and I will definitely post updates as I go.
Hahahaha I should have thought of that before I posted! I might wait until I’ve finished, and post a slightly haggered-looking victory shot with a towel around my neck.
Well, my training is going well. The swim is 2½ km, and I’ve done 2 km twice so far this week. Gosh, I ache this morning! But that will pass. I’ve upped my swimming sessions from 4 to 5 times a week, and this is helping. I’m pleased to report that so far I’ve raised £165, but I’d love to be able to get it much higher than that. There’s still time! http://my.swimathon.org/sponsor/davidholdertwomlow
Getting nervous now, my swim is this coming Saturday. I’m very grateful to all those who have sponsored me, anybody who still wants to has plenty of time to do so! If nobody minds I will post a picture after I have finished!
I did my ‘big swim’ on Saturday; 2.5 km, which is 75 lengths of my local pool (in a little under 75 minutes, too!). Gosh, it was tiring, but exhilarating!
A huge thank you to all those who have sponsored me, I am deeply grateful for all the encouragement.
