Speaking of people being involved in the Eisteddfod

I was torn as to whether to post this or let it slip by quietly, but the hope for a friendly crowd won out in the end!

I am going to be competing in the National Eisteddfod this year as a soloist in the classical voice section! The terror is starting to set in about now, but I’m really looking forward to the experience, and I hope that I see some familiar faces there!

I’ll be competing in the prelims on the Thursday at 5:30 in Neuadd yr Urdd.

[Running joke going on here about what a deep-rooted part of the Eisteddfod it is to ‘be wronged’ - ‘cael cam’ - you’ll hear people ask ‘Did you get on the stage? Or were you wronged?’ ]

Pob lwc @Karla. I hope I’ll be able to see your performance one time after Eisteddfod is over (as they’d probably put everything for us “outsiders” to watch on YouTube or S4C at that time).

You will do just fine, believe me. You love music, you love Welsh, what possibly could go wrong? NOTHING! so dal ati!

Diolch Tatjana! It’s just so much bigger than anything I’ve ever done before…so nerves are to be expected I think. The support is a great help though!

Think about this as about climbing the stairs of the tree for example. The higher you go the more excitement it brings, more joy when you succeed and more opportunities to climb even higher. When you’re at the top you can fly and winds can carry you wherever you want because you control them! You’re a bird with the sweetest song to sing and great hights and lenghts to fly!
