Serious question 😉

Just briefly, doing the new Level 3 Northern course and noticed that ‘o ddifri’ (seriously) is sometimes preceded by ‘yn’. Previously I’ve never used yn, rather I just say ‘wyt ti o ddifri?’ etc. Any explainers please!

It seems that the “yn” is part of the previous phrase:
Life isn’t = dydi bywyd ddim yn
Then, to add the adjective “serious” you need: o ddifri(f)
So, Life isn’t serious will be: dydi bywyd ddim yn o ddifri(f)

Incidentally (but not in the challenge), I think that yn ddifri (without the o) would be the adverb: seriously, which would need a verb (actual or implied) after it. As in: I’m seriously thinking that I should have left this bit out

I’ve just noticed the same thing on level 3 of Automagic. Both voices use dydy bywyd ddim yn o ddifri, but the text says dydy bywyd ddim o ddifri. As far as I have seen yn is never used before o but I don’t know if this is an exception?

As far as I’m aware o ddifri shouldn’t have yn in front of it; however, because dydy xxx ddim yn is such a common phrase, in everyday speech, sometimes an yn sneaks in there
