Fy mheleser!
It turns out that Sky badly represented the Time table today. S4C repeated both the 2 episodes from this week before the Birthday one. I doubt tthey’ll do anything like that on International as you can watch when convenient. They repeat in UK because not all get Broad Band, not all can watch TV in the evenings mid week and, being short of cash, repeats help fill the schedules!
So, if ypu get anything, it’ll be the 21year old episode! Here’s hoping! (Gobeithio!)
Well, @henddraig, no first ever episode available internationally
While checking the website, I got really excited because I thought they’d added Pobol y Cwm, only when I looked more carefully it was really Pobol y Cwn! Oh, well!
Now I’ll go watch the newest episode of Rownd a Rownd…
You could message them and ask for it!! But… to be honest it was the story of some kids running their paper rounds…rownd a rownd yn wir! I didn’t work out if any of them are known to us as adults. If I’d seen it in 1995, I doubt I’d have thought it worth watching. A girl called Fflyr (I think) wanted a round and her mam and dad said she was too young. One lad was being bullied, but didn’t look like a wimp, so I’m not sure why. Maybe he was good at Maths and bad at pel droed? As an episode, as a drama, I wouldn’t recommend it, but as history of R&R it was fascinating - how far it has come!
I know that Dani was in the series as a child - I’ve seen an old episode (or part of one) on Youtube with her in it. However, I doubt if she is old enough to have been in it in the very early days.
I watched the birthday program/episode whatever and I’m sure that there isn’t anyone from the first episode still in it.
Also, imho, I wouldn’t fuss too much about not getting to see the very first episode, it’s 11 mins I won’t get back.
I’m spending the week on Ynys Môn (attempting to siarad Cymraeg cymaint a phosib, wrth cwrs!) so I had to stop by the set yesterday to see it in person. And then, this morning I was driving up Lon Cilbedlam and noticed there was some movement on the set. Lo and behold there were the actors who play Iolo and Mathew just chatting away in front of Sgram. It was difficult, but I resisted the urge to turn around to spy on the filming.
Da iawn boi. I would have just stood there, gawping like an idiot.
Seriously, I’m slightly jealous. I have (unofficially) visited the set, but the only action taking place was being done by the cleaners!
One lucky lot of northern bwtcampwrs got to visit it officially, some years ago.
Manon Elis, “Michelle” from Rownd a Rownd, is a guest on “ar Fore Sul” today.
(available on BBC iPlayer for 29 days, at the time of writing).
@hendraig posted this in another thread, but I’ll reply to it here in a more specific RaR thread:
It would be good if S4C published a ‘story so far’ for everyone who comes to rownd a rownd midway through! Is there anyone on the Forum who has seen enough to send in a resume?
This site is helpful for the characters (although the list isn’t always up to date):
http://www.s4c.cymru/rowndarownd/
See http://www.s4c.cymru/rowndarownd/cymeriadau/
Now, if you look at http://www.s4c.cymru/rowndarownd/pennodau/
(under the “beth sy’n digwydd” tab), you will find a summary of recent episoedes (and you can get it in Saesneg if you wish).
Now that used to be rêli rêli good, because it went back quite a long way, so you could easily pick up the story, even if you hadn’t seen it for ages, or ever. But for some reason, they changed it so instead of going back for “ever”, after you look back 3 or 4 episodes, it just repeats the same episodes over and over. I think it may actually be a technical issue, rather than what they intended. I did try emailing them about it, but got no response. I realise their resources are probably limited.
Something else that happened around that time was that the episode summaries also stopped appearing on the Clic web page for each episode, although you could still find them in the schedule listing , on the main S4C website. Again, I assumed this was probably limited resources biting.
By random means I found an old story summary page, and using the date forward and back links at the bottom, you can go forward and backward quite a long way. I have not found out exactly how far yet!

That is 2015 I believe.
This is the beginning of the following year:

(hmm…I could be wrong, and that’s 2015, and the previous year was 2014…I remember parts of these old stories, but not exactly when they were!)
Edit: here is start of following year:
http://www.s4c.cymru/rowndarownd/e_/pennodau/dydd-iau-ionawr-1/
(Still not totally sure which year that is!)
…now that that was 2015, because here is start of following year, which is surely 2016…(?):

Www, diolch yn fawr iawn!!
Yes, this one is definitely 2016 because this is where I first started watching.
A dyma ni, more or less up to date:

I suppose I should really have linked to the fersiwn Cymrag:

@gruntius in that other thread, you said you could not think of Ron. Here is a reminder:

also Nel:
As soon as I saw their faces I knew, I said I’m rubbish with names.
Fideo Nadolig Rownd a Rownd
They can sing beautifully as well as act!
Is that last year?
No, it should be the brand new one for this year!
It looked like Jac and Carys. They were involved back then, no?
Well, they had a one night stand more recently. I can’t remember how things were with them back last Christmas.
But I think the video makers were playing with our heads a bit by featuring them as a couple… unless it’s a hint of things to come …
