I’m looking to work on my reading and writing yn Gymraeg! SSiW is amazing, but I’d love to be able to read books and write letters in Welsh. Any suggestions on what I can do? (I’m still quite basic in my Welsh: on level 1 challenge 8.)
Hi @lucy-bradburn! I really recommend joining the postcard club Email nia@saysomethingin.com if you’d like to join. Its lots of fun and its really helping me with my reading in writing. You need to send at least one postcard per month, but the more you send the more you receive!
the postcard club is indeed great fun!
Writing to actual people and getting a response is so much more motivating than the usual way of learning a language by translating words and sentences.
No one will judge you for your spelling or your grammar either and for me that makes all the difference, because it encourages me to write more and use words I didn’t know before.
English / Welsh online dictionaries are my new friends since joining the club
If you are looking for a way to practise writing and getting an immediate correction of your spelling, you might try Duolingo.
I’m learning Welsh there additional to SSi and though the sentences are a bit strange sometimes I’m very content with it.
