OMG, that reminds me of a (legendarily) ridiculous US TV program called ā€œThe Gong Show.ā€ If the panel hated your act, they rang a big, loud gong in the middle of it and shoved you offstage. Not exactly a prime example of high American culture.

1) Who would play you in a movie about your life?

For no other reasons than I always get Tobey Maguire look-a-like shouts. So I’ll give him the gig.

2) Talking of dentist’s appointments and bed changes - when was the last time you had to suddenly think on your feet and change your plans?

I work in IT - I live in Aberyswyth and my office is in London. I have to think on my feet and change my plans every day :D:D

3) Where would £5,000 take you?

Flying out to Eastern Europe and inter-railing back home for a month or so.

4) What momentous world event do you remember with happiness and/or relief?

Although I remember a lot of things like the Berlin wall falling, Thatcher finally leaving Downing Street, the Iraq War ending - I was a little bit too young at the time to get a full grip on what these events meant. So for me it has to be the release of Nelson Mandela.

5) Tried and failed? Think of things you’ve been excited to try because they’d been highly recommended, things you really wanted to like but really didn’t no matter how hard you tried.

Food - Onions. I despise onions, and I’ve tried forcing myself to like them, I’ve tried cutting them down into almost unrecognisable molecule-sized chunks - but nope… still not having them. Plus, they find their way into EVERY single type of food.
Drink - Tea, I just do not get it. Coffee is the way to go.
Book - Dan Brown series, not for me I’m afraid.
Film - Star Wars. As an IT nerd, I always feel like I’m letting the side down by not having a clue what the fuss is with Star Wars. No doubt I will upset a lot of people with this controversial comment
Music - I like everything from Girls Aloud to Slipknot, except for Ed Sheeran. Sorry Ed.
One bonus, because I feel like it.

6) Thinking of altitude and depth without actually leaving the earth - share with us the highest and lowest experience you have ever had on Terra firma?

Highest - ooh, I’ve been pretty high before but its hard to pick one out. Montmarte above Paris… or Pen-y-Fan?
Lowest - Anyone who has been on the Barcelona metro system can confirm just how low some of those stations can go.

1) Who would play you in a movie about your life?

As there is a shortage of female, middle aged, redheaded movie stars it would have t be Julianne Moore…

2) Talking of dentist’s appointments and bed changes - when was the last time you had to suddenly think on your feet and change your plans?

The day we woke to find my mother in law’s water supply pipe had split and her TV had decided it’d had enough.

3) Where would £5,000 take you?

To the garden centre.

4) What momentous world event do you remember with happiness and/or relief?

The launch of S4C in 1982 and The Welsh devolution referendum of 1997 .

5) Tried and failed? Think of things you’ve been excited to try because they’d been highly recommended, things you really wanted to like but really didn’t no matter how hard you tried.

  • Food - caviar
  • Drink - Most cocktails - I mostly find them too sweet
  • Book - Don Quixote - so, so, so boring.
  • Film - Dirty Dancing, Top Gun
  • Music - Madonna.

… it would have to be Julianne Moore…

She’d be flattered.

Don’t you mean ā€˜she’d be flatter’? Because I do believe she’s a little thinner than me… :joy:

I’d never thought of her as being anorexic.

The great thing is, you would probably have to voice-coach her as well. I would love to hear Julianne Moore’s Gwynedd accent!

@CatrinLliarJones You know, I quite see Catherine Ayers in that role. She’d have to be voice-coached - or at least accent-coached - as well, but I’m sure the result would be fun.
