My friend Pat & I have created a book of 50 puzzles - crosswords, wordsearches, quizzes, logic puzzles, makes etc - to raise much needed funds for this year’s Eisteddfod Genedlaethol being held in Pontypridd in August. We’ve made it so it’s accessible to learners like us; folk who learnt Welsh at school & might be brushing up ahead of the Eisteddfod & fluent speakers. Even if you’ve only just started learning, many of the puzzles are bilingual or you could look stuff up, use Google lens / translate etc to help you out.
There’s a prize competition & prize draw with over 40 prizes, such as signed books from Doctor Cymraeg; lifetime subscriptions to Golingo (so you don’t need to be UK based); meal & book vouchers; and a pair of tickets for a tour of the Principality Stadium. There are a number of discount vouchers inside for local & online shops, so if you live nearby or will be visiting the Rhondda, it’d be worthwhile you downloading & donating just to get cheap pizzas, Welsh cakes or other items! We’ve also included details of plenty of resources to help your learning.
