UPDATE - according to Lleuwen Steffan on Facebook (shared by @nia.llywelyn) the auction has now been postponed - not a permanent solution, but enough for now, and good news.
There is a church in Powys being put up for auction; although now de consecrated, it was formerly the place where the hymnist Ann Griffiths was baptized, married, worshipped - and in the churchyard of which she lies buried.
A petition has been started on Change.org to ask the diocese to stop the auction in order to allow enough time for a national campaign to raise funds to preserve it, rather than having it converted into flats, or whatever else might happen to it.
