We often have trouble describing certain elements of the northern Pen Llŷn accent. But especially so, the pronunciation of ‘u’, ‘y’ and often ‘ae’ which in many southern dialects sound like ‘ee’.
The following video of Gruffudd Eifion Owen reading a poem he wrote about the Llŷn and Eifionydd 2023 Eisteddfod, is a perfect example of the Pen Llŷn accent.
